October Athlete of the Month: Anne Trainor!

Anne joined us in April and has been fully committed to the process. She has worked hard in the gym and has dialed in her nutrition. Her commitment and effort has yielded some great progress! In her own words
“I first started CrossFit in January of this year because I was totally out of my workout routine and was visiting my Aunt Melanie in Las Vegas… she raved about CrossFit and I decided to try it with her while being there. I religiously got into CrossFit in April of this year when I finally made my way into Pennant. I have not looked back since!
Before CrossFit I was seeing a personal trainer but quickly lost that success as soon as I moved away to college for a semester. I find CrossFit is much more sustainable due to the environment and community that draws you in.
My goals when joining CrossFit were to lose weight, gain confidence, and overall feel better in my everyday life. I have achieved these goals in ways I never thought I could, not only have I lost fat I have also become stronger than I ever thought possible.
CrossFit has made me much happier outside of the gym and has also brought a ton of new people into my life. I do not feel as groggy as I did before. I didn’t know many people around the area when I first joined and now I don’t consider that as much of an issue. The Pennant community considers themselves a family and I cannot express more how incredible that feels.
Outside of the gym I attend Boston College full time and work as a nanny in some of my time off from school. I love traveling especially to Vegas to see some of my favorite relatives. Family and friends are also very important in my day to day life!
For someone starting CrossFit I would tell them not to be intimidated like I was, know that the people around you want you to succeed just as much as you want to succeed if not even more. I would also tell them not to doubt themselves because you really have no sense of what you can accomplish until you give it a go!”
