Box Brief: Athlete of the Month, Adam Luippold

Adam has been very dedicated and committed to improving inside the gym. He takes extra time both before and after class to work mobility and movements that have been a struggle in the past. Awesome job Adam, keep up the good work!

1. When did you start CrossFit and why?

I started crossfit May last year when when I went to a “bring a friend day”. A few of my co workers would talk about crossfit and I was looking for something different so I decided to give it a shot.

2. What is you favorite movement?
I would have to say power cleans.

3. What is your least favorite movement?
Definitely would have to be squat snatches right now.

4. Tell us a little about your life outside the gym (family, job, hobbies, interests, etc)
Im always a fan of doing something outside whether that be skiing, fishing, whatever. I try to still play hockey as much as I can.

5. What were you doing before CrossFit?
I was going to the gym at my work maybe a few times a week doing the same movements but not really pushing myself physically or mentally.

6. What were your goals when joining CrossFit and how have you achieved those goals?

I never really had/have any definitive goals besides give it everything I have and try to be a littler better each day whether that means PRing a workout or improving my mobility.

7. How has CrossFit affected your life outside the gym?
I feel that Crossfit has helped me be a more confident, positive person. I’m still shy but before I started I would barely talk to anybody if I didn’t already know them.

8. What advice would you give to someone new to CrossFit or thinking about giving it a shot?
Just give it a shot. I personally didn’t think Crossfit was for me and I wouldn’t like it but I was totally wrong! You never know if you’ll like it if you don’t try it at least once!
